At present, the automotive USB connector is widely used. However, its design and manufacture are not based on the car. At times, a simple design does not necessarily meet the needs and safety of the user. Laying up a vehicle entails strict requirements and loose lines can seriously affect the electromagnetic condition of an automobile.

The USB (Universal Serial Bus) has become a standard transmission protocol and is widely used. This success is attributable to the simplicity of its technology and low cost. Deploying a universal serial bus on a vehicle provides great convenience for the user.

  With the rapid development of communication technology, vehicle application technology has also made significant progress. In addition, the application of radio devices has become a primary medium for coordinating various automobile functions. Simultaneously, other external devices of the computer such as MP3s, iPods, mobile phones, etc. are gradually applied to automobiles by means of USB connector. While using various products, it is very important to improve the reliability of data transmission between vehicle mounted devices. This data transmission system is not only limited to advanced cars, but also covers general vehicles, which has become a typical application of modern technology in daily life.

USB is gradually evolving into a standard transmission protocol, with many transmission accessory manufacturers in the market today, especially in connection technologies such as USB connectors and transmission lines. In most cases, these accessories are easy and convenient to use, but in some instances, if not handled properly, could pose risks to the user's safety.

At present, many family cars have started supporting USB external devices, but most of these USB connectors and lines are not designed according to the vehicle’s environment. Excessively loose cables, adapter wires, or poorly shielded connections can damage the vehicle’s electromagnetic condition.

The design of the automotive USB connector must also address other extreme conditions involved while the vehicle is in use, including harsh environmental changes, i.e., the ability of certain components to function normally when subjected to vibration, humidity, air pollution and mechanical stress, as well as temperature stability of the machine. It is only when these conditions are met that USB external devices can truly satisfy user requirements and safety.
