The characteristics of connector components provided by connector manufacturers are listed below:

1. Plugins will interact to form a circuit solution. Either the male or female plug will be flexible.

1. Chemical performance:

Easy to solder: The end of the connector that is normally soldered is made of tin plated lead alloy, making it easier to solder.

Anti-corrosion: The connector connection port is normally nickel plated.

2. Mechanical performance:

Wear resistant: Connectors must have a certain resistance against wear caused by plugging/unplugging and a certain life span.

Vibration resistant: Due to vibrations caused by the environment, connectors must have strong connections and retentivity.

3. Electrical performance:

Contact resistance: A low and stable contact resistance is a must for connectors.

Insulation resistance: A standard against which a connector component is judged.

Dielectric strength and breakdown voltage are used to judge the voltage capacity of a component.

4. Environmental performance:

Heat resistance: usually between -55~125.

Humidity resistance: Humidity could affect the seal and anti-corrosion nature of a connector. Therefore, manufacturers must conduct strict testing.

Salt spray resistance: When salt sprays occur in a workplace, it can easily corrode connector components, affecting its physical and electrical properties.

Vibration and heat impact: These two items are important indicators of mechanical performance.


Factors that affect connector quality:

Primarily, there are 3 different factors: design, material, and the manufacturing process. Regarding design, an excellent product will have every detail carefully considered. The finish product will be like a piece of perfect art that can be enjoyed. Regarding material selection, the connector’s insulation must be made from fireproof industrial material. The conductive material should be copper, not iron. It must guarantee excellent quality for each connector component. Regarding the manufacturing process, if the connector threads are not up to standard, the torque cannot meet standards. This means the connector does not reach design standards. This will inconvenience the user greatly. Therefore, excellent connectors must be monitored and tested during every step of manufacturing to maintain standards.
