With the developing technology of mobile phones nowadays, the design and production process of mobile phone parts are constantly upgrading, and the connectors are one of the most important electronic components. The quality of the connector will directly affect the quality of the mobile phone and its reliability to use. The connector suppliers provide the following information:

The main types of mobile phone connectors:
A connector generally refers to an electro connection device with two active components that carry and transmit an electronic current or signals. Depending on the application on different environments, objects, power, and frequencies, there are many types of connectors. The most used connectors include the FPC connectors, the I/O connectors, the card connectors, the battery connectors, and the antenna connectors.

FPC connector: Mostly used to connect LCD display screen and drive circuit (PCB).
I/O connector: Containing the connection between the signal and the power supply, it is the most important access channel for mobile phones.
Card connector: Mainly used to connect the SIM card and the T-flash card, it is an indispensable part of mobile phones.
Battery connector: It can be divided into blade-type and spring-type. At present, the mainly used one is the spring type.
Antenna connector: Responsible for connecting the antenna and the mobile phone's drive circuit (PCB), the shape of which has a certain influence on the high frequency performance of the antenna.

The main features of the mobile phone connectors:
1. Mechanical performances
As it is frequently used in mobile phones, a connector should have a good insertion and extraction force, that is, the insertion and extraction force must meet the standards required by the industry. In general, the insertion force standard mainly limits the maximum insertion force, while the extraction force standard mainly stipulates the minimum extraction force. If the resistance force is too strong when inserted or is too weak when extracted, both will not be beneficial to the normal use of the mobile phone.
Another important mechanical performance indicator of the connector is its mechanical lifespan, which is the durability of the mobile phone connector. The connector supplier needs to perform a test to determine and ensure the mechanical lifespan of the product before it is sold, and in doing so, provide their cooperating partners and customers the knowledge about the quality of the product.

2. Electrical performances
Contact Resistance: Low and stable contact resistance is one of the essential requirements for a high quality connector.
Insulation resistance: It can be used to determine whether the insulation between the connector's contact and the outer casing or in between the contacts is up to standard.
Dielectric strength: Also known as withstand voltage, dielectric withstand voltage, it is used to determine the rated voltage withstand capability between the connector's contact and the outer casing or in between the contacts.
Other electrical performances: Varies depending on the type of connector.

3. Environmental performances
Thermal resistance: The general rated operating temperature range is -65°C~200°C (except for special products, such as high temperature special connectors). Because the connector supplier's work can generate heat, it is generally considered that the operating temperature is the sum of the environment's temperature and the junction's temperature rise.
Moisture resistance: The insulation of the connector will be affected by moisture intrusion, and the moisture may also cause corrosion of the metal parts. Therefore, the connector will be subjected to constant damp heat test before leaving the factory. The test time varies according to the product type.
Salt resistance spray: When the connector supplier's working environment contains salt and moisture, electrochemical corrosion may happen to the contact surface and the metal structures, which could possibly affect the physical and electrical use of the connector.
Vibration and shock testing: These two are among the key performances of a connector, important criteria for evaluating the electrical contact reliability and the stability of the mechanical structure of the connector.
Other environmental performances: According to different usage requirements, some connectors possess certain performances towards low air pressure, sealing (liquid pressure, air leakage), liquid immersion (resistance to specific liquids), etc.
