The market size of connectors in terms of consumption has become very large. In every industry, we can see the emergence of connector manufacturers. With the increase in global electronics manufacturers and migration of businesses to the mainland market, China has become the center of the electronics manufacturing industry. It does not only have a large production volume, but it also has the highest consumption of electronic components in the world. In addition, suppliers of connectors and cable components have chosen to move to mainland China due to lower costs of labor and resources. As a result, the production level and output of connectors and cables have become stronger in China especially in recent years, which saw marked progress in its foreign trade and electronics industry. Therefore, connectors, whether for production or consumption, account for a large proportion in the country since they are used every day in both electronics and household appliances.

In recent years, the number of connector manufacturers producing and using connectors has increased significantly, and the trend is quite obvious. In fact, based on the current situation analysis of connector production, mainland China has more than 600 connector manufacturers, of which Taiwanese companies account for 37.5%, while European and American companies account for 14.1%. However, these external investments have also increased the competitive pressure on Chinese connector companies, forcing them to work hard to improve their production level and technology, and to constantly adjust their prices. But since these are small manufacturers, most of the connectors they produce are less technical components and are focused on labor-intensive products such as harnesses, end-use parts, micro switches and other small components.

Penetrating the high-end connector market is also one of the main objectives of Chinese connector manufacturers. In addition learning foreign technologies, Chinese connector companies should also strive to cultivate the technical standards of their staff to improve the quality of their workers. Because mainland China has a relatively large population base, it has an abundant labor force. For this reason, the education level in China is low compared to other countries, so there is a need to improve the quality of its labor force. Since core technologies have been widely used in connector production, innovation has become a key to technological advancement.
