Because of the continuous expansion of the connector market, there is greater demand for all sorts of connectors and HDMI is one of them. According to statistics, there are more than 850 companies globally that are authorized to use HDMI. In 2009 alone, 100% digital color TVs carried at least one HDMI input. From blue ray players in 2010 to DVD players in 2012, all fully adopted an HDMI interface. More and more consumer electronics and PC manufacturers were authorized to use HDMI, which was seen to enhance performance in high definition digital connection that could change the world. Hence, the future of HDMI connector suppliers is unstoppable.
HDMI is so popular because of its great characteristics. The President of HDMI Licensing, LLC, Steve Venuti introduced 7 new features of the HDMI 1.4 model:

1. Additional data access in HDMI Ethernet channel, HDMI1.4 with two-way high speed transmission, Ethernet cable’s capability of sending and receiving data speed that can reach 100Mb/second, equipped for usage as basic IP, ability to connect to the internet with other HDMI without using another Ethernet cable

2. Additional audio return passage; simple addition of audio passage to HDMI 1.4, significantly reducing the number of cable lines to process and upload audio; guaranteed audio sent by the audio return passage to the A/V receiver without adding another cable on high-definition TV
 
3. With 3D effect via HDMI, HDMI1.4-defined 3D format and resolution plus standardized 3D home system; 1080p resolution in both passages
 
4. Supports 4Kx2K resolution, allows more options and standards for transmission, 3840x216024Hz/25Hz/30Hz and 4096x216024Hz formats are compatible with HDMI 1.4
 
5. Supports color space expansion, significant improvement of HDMI1.4 in digital camera color space, supports AdobeYCC601, AdobeRGB, and sYCC601 and displays vivid colors while connecting to a digital camera
 
6. With micro interface HDMI application, 50% smaller HDMI1.4 size than the current mini HDMI connector despite having 19 pins, resolution of up to 1080p on portable devices
 
7. Expansion of automotive connection system, with more automobile applications, effective HDMI 1.4 solution to problems like high temperature, vibration, and noise due to lines and wires inside the car, expands HDMI 1.4 application and connector supplier requirements
