Manufacturers of FPC connectors are mostly located in Shenzhen, Dongguan and Yueqing. Despite the large number of FPC connector manufacturers in Mainland China, most of them are aimed at diversity rather than scale. Currently, there are about 300 foreign companies and joint ventures among FPC connector manufacturers that provide technological support.

Most FPC connector manufacturers have good managing strategies and are able to develop different types of connectors and electronic components. Since they assemble the products they develop, FPC connector manufacturers have less than 10% of their total production. But once there is growing demand, these companies are able to adjust their production line accordingly and are able to complete large orders on time.

FPC connector manufacturers in Taiwan have concentration of production which means that they are focused on manufacturing a specific product line, e.g., FPC connectors. In contrast, FPC connector manufacturers in Mainland China usually sell FPC connectors and wires. Hence, Taiwan remains the leader in the production of FPC connectors worldwide. However, with the higher costs of material and manpower, some companies are turning to automated manufacturing. They are also trying to reduce cost associated with switching machine power on and off.

Despite the pressure, companies still gain opportunities like the growing demand for GPS FPC connectors for car electronics. The production of FPC connector remains very positive. Although there have been some obstacles in terms of mobile phone FPC connector requirements, the business is still reliable thanks to its huge fundament. According to business projections, small-sized FPC connectors will play an important role in mobile phones as well as high-speed transportation. High-end market likewise has great potential. For this reason, FPC connector manufacturers should be on the defenseive and maintain their position while continuing with production.
